10 Questions

When McFly was in Spain around december 2nd a newspaper got a 20 minute interview with the guys after their gig. Here it is, translated (by me and the web, so it's not completely correct):


"They finish passing by our country to release their last disc, Radio: ACTIVE, that they gave away for free with The Mail in their home country. They held a concert in Madrid held by MySpace; fans greeted them already at the airport. McFly are big idols, have their own record label and makes pop rock. We spoke with Harry, the drummer of the group.

What is it like visiting Spain?
Brilliant, there was a pile of fans meeting us at the airport, and also outside the room where we were going to perform… We are enchanted.

Tell us about your last work, Radio: ACTIVE.
It is a pop rock album, but it also sounds fresh and new. It has influences of groups of the 60, 70 and 80, and with respect to our previous discs, the sound of the guitars is much stronger. It is our favorite work.

What think of the phenomenon fan?
MySpace, Twitter and other sites are very useful to be able to be in contact with the fans. We feel very lucky to have followers with as much passion, for which in addition our music is most important.

What moves to touch to them in direct?
It is what we like more, to perform in front of a pile of people.

You have gained many awards, including a Brit in 2005…
Yes, and we are very proud of all the recognitions that we have received.

Who are your musical idols?
The Beatles, Michael Jackson, groups of pop punk like Green Day and others of before like The Who.

What do you have on your iPod?
I take everything to It! I have many, many songs and of all the bands…

Conocen some Spanish band?
No, because we have only come a pair from times and we have not had the opportunity.

So that the name of McFly?
Back to the future is the favorite film of Tom, and all we are very cinéfilos. We liked.

You have made appearances in the cinema… throws to them more than music?
Yes, we made a film with Lindsay Lohan, Just my luck, that was very amusing. But definitively we prefer music.

BIO:
They formed in 2004, the album "Room on the 3rd Floor" made debut with great success. Their members are Tom Fletcher (Guitar and Vocal) Harry Judd (Drums), Dougie Poynter (Bass and Vocal) and Danny Jones (Guitar and Vocal). Its name must to the personage Marty McFly of the film Return the future. "
